Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. The RN is responsible for prioritizing the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently.

Working Conditions
– Work a flexible schedule
– Occasional lifting up to 30lbs
– Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching, climbing and prolonged periods of sitting.
– Minimal hazards, general office working conditions

– Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses.
– Coordinates patients care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
– Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, clinical path or standard protocols.
– Delegates or assigns aspects of patient care to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task.
– To assist with various procedures, treatments, surgical techniques, and delegates/ assigns to other healthcare team members as appropriate.
– Assists in orientation of new staff and serve as a resource person and professional role model.
– Professionally responsible for current nursing standards and supporting the agency facility philosophy and programs in order to maintain high-quality care.
– Responsible for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
– Performs other functions as required
– Willingly “floats” to other areas of the facility in which the nurse can provide safe patient care at the facility managers’ request.

– Requires detailed knowledge of nursing practice and care delivery in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is to be done. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and incorporates them into patient plan of care.
– Ability to make decisions are varied but usually confirmed to situations which are familiar. There are several defined alternative solutions available.
– Ability to exercise choice in how work is accomplished with independence to operate within
– Able to be on feet and walking at least 8 hours per day. Assumes land maintains various postural positions including but not limited to – kneeling, reaching, stopping, bending, crouching, and lifting. Repositions and transfers patients, be able to push-pull patients in a wheelchair.
– Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing school and at least two years of continuous work experience in a healthcare setting
– Must have a valid Registered Nurse License for Pennsylvania and is free from disciplinary action
– Valid CPR/FA certification
– Spanish Speaking is a plus

Licensed Practical Nurse

There is a wide range of services provided by a Licensed Practical Nurse at MarsCare Home Health Agency. The LPN provides service in accordance with agency policies and nursing standards of practice and assists the Registered Nurse in completing the physician’s plan of care for skilled services. The exact nature of the duties depends on the environment of the specific job although there are commonalities in all positions.

– Assisting the patient in learning appropriate self-care techniques
– Reporting findings and observations to the Registered Nurse and other members of the team to assure coordination of services and timely response to client changes or needs.
– Prepares clinical and progress notes
– Giving medication as prescribed by a physician
– Taking vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight
– Basic wound care including cleaning and bandaging injured areas
– Giving injections of medication
– Wound care experiences a must

– Current LPN license in good standing (in applicable state)
– Current CPR certification
– Minimum one-year clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
– Strong organizational and communication skills
– Able to constantly travel from assignment to assignment
– Able to travel within geographic area

​Home Health Aide

The Direct Care Worker will provide direct assistance and supervision to patients living with physical and intellectual disabilities in the home or community settings. The primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe environment and meet the emotional and personal needs of the participant.

– Bathing, dressing, grooming, caring for hair, nail, and oral hygiene which are needed to facilitate treatment or to prevent deterioration of the patient’s health
– Changing bed linens of the patient, shaving, deodorant application, skin care with lotions and/or powder, foot care, and ear care
– Maintaining good hygiene and care of patient
– Feeding, assistance with elimination, assistance with ambulation, re-positioning the patients in bed, and assisting with transfer
– Home Health Aide services are those services ordered in the plan of care that the aide is permitted to perform under state law
– Home health aide should remind patient to take medications. Home health Aid can give meds to a patient when previously separated in a pill dispenser by a Registered Nurse

– Must have an active HHA certification in good standing
– Must be able to pass Criminal Background and FBI fingerprints
– Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and staff

​Direct Care Professionals

The Direct Service Professional will provide direct assistance and supervision to adults living with physical and intellectual disabilities in the home or community settings. The primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe environment and meet the emotional and personal needs of the participant. The Direct Service professional should have knowledge of mental health diagnosis, therapeutic relationship processes and individualized support plans. The Direct Service professional will promote the participants freedom of choice, rights, independence and help them build personal and community living skills.

– Proven experience as a Direct Service Professional or Therapeutic Staff support
– Knowledge of behavioral health and mental health diagnosis
– In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines
– A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Responsible and compassionate with people with Intellectual Disabilities
– Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
– Excellent problem-solving skills
– Observe and monitor the Participants safety
– Assist the Participant in making safe decisions while engaging in community activities
– Provide detailed and accurate documentation of the Participant’s behavior in the medical record
– Maintain a working knowledge of the Participant’s Individualized Service Plan to provide effective support of the individual
– Assist the Participant in maintaining their well-being, personal hygiene and maintain their home environment
– Maintain effective communication with the ODP Program Director and Coordinator as applicable
– Provide guidance to the Participant in keeping with medical appointments, employment and daily community activities according to the Individualized Support Plan goals
– Participate in the Individualized Service Plan multi-system planning meetings
– Maintain and participate in ODP annual training and regulatory requirements
– Engage the participant in community activities while keeping them safe

– Experience working with Intellectual Disability Participants

​Direct Care Worker

The Direct Care Worker will provide direct assistance and supervision to adults living with physical and intellectual disabilities in the home or community settings. The primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe environment and meet the emotional and personal needs of the participant.
– Wellness services to enable adequate nutrition, exercise, keeping of medical appointments and all other health regimens related to healthy living activities.
– Chore services needed to maintain the home in a clean, sanitary and safe environment, such as washing floors, windows and walls and tacking down loose rugs and tiles.
– Each case has specific needs and services which will be discussed on-site with the Consumer Account Manager and the consumer or consumer’s family.
– Observation and reporting of the consumer’s condition to the Agency.
– Professional and confidential communication with the Agency and the consumer’s family.
– Other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
– Must be able to lift or transfer at least 30lbs.

– Must have a Direct Care Worker active license
– High School Diploma or GED is a plus

RN Clinical Manager

The Clinical Manager is a leadership and educator role, providing both patient care and
education to direct reports, including researching, training, guiding and providing instruction to
direct reports.

– Uses knowledge and judgment needed to meet the nursing needs of the patient.
– Serves in a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching and research.

– Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
– 3 years as a Registered Nurse
